Catenary Privacy Policy
This policy covers the Catenary Android app, the Catenary web app, and the Catenary pages on maintai-lab.com. Earlier Android test versions (1.1.2) do not have saved conveyors, reports, backup or share; everything else below applies to them too.

What stays on your device
Catenary calculates on your device. Calculator inputs, saved conveyor profiles, assessment drafts, result reports, language choice and interface preferences are stored locally: in the app’s private storage on Android, or in this site’s browser storage for the web app. The web app also keeps a copy of its own files in the browser cache so it works offline. None of this is sent to MaintAi_Lab, and there is no cloud sync.
Backup, restore and share
- Backup creates a JSON file containing your conveyor profiles and reports. It is made only when you press Backup. On Android you choose the location in the system save dialog; in a browser it downloads like any other file. MaintAi_Lab does not receive it.
- Restore reads only the file you select and adds its conveyors and reports to this device.
- Share / copy result passes the result text to the app you choose (for example email or a messaging app) or to your clipboard. That app then handles it under its own privacy policy.
Backup files are not encrypted. Treat them like any plant document: they may contain equipment tags, duties and conveyor data from your site.
Website visit counting
The Catenary web app and the maintai-lab.com pages, including this one, use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It records the page address, the referring website, browser and device type, approximate country and loading speed. It sets no cookies, is not used to identify you, and never receives your inputs, conveyor profiles or reports. The Android app does not include it.
The sites are hosted on Cloudflare, which processes ordinary web requests, including your IP address, to deliver and secure them. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
External links
Reference links open only when you choose them, in your normal browser. Those websites receive normal connection information, including your IP address, and follow their own privacy policies.
Support and privacy requests
MaintAi_Lab is responsible for Catenary. Email [email protected] with the app name and your request. When you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send, and use it only to respond. Please do not send passwords, confidential drawings or sensitive personal information.
Retention and deletion
Local data stays until you delete it: use the app’s delete controls, clear the app’s storage in Android Settings or uninstall the app, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings. Uninstalling or clearing storage permanently removes saved conveyors and reports, so make a backup first if you want to keep them. Backup files and shared results stay wherever you saved or sent them; delete them there. Support emails are kept as long as needed to handle your enquiry; you can ask for their deletion. Third-party services manage their own records under their policies.
Security
The Android app blocks cleartext HTTP traffic and disables Android app-data backup, so your saved data is not copied to cloud backups by the system. Keep your device and Android System WebView updated and protect access to your device. No security measure can guarantee absolute protection.
Audience and changes
Catenary is intended for adult engineering and maintenance users, not children. We will update this page and its effective date when app behaviour or this policy changes. Engineering outputs require independent review before use on real equipment or in safety-related decisions.
