Daily belt conveyor inspection routine
A short, consistent route catches changes before they become outages. Follow site-specific inspection intervals.
Safety first: observe a running conveyor only from designated guarded positions. Isolate, lock out and verify zero energy, and secure take-up movement, before any hands-on check or correction.
Observe
From guarded walkways, check tracking, abnormal sound, leakage, spillage and material loading. Note the equipment ID and operating condition.
Inspect
Check accessible guards, housekeeping and visible belt damage without reaching into the conveyor. Test protective devices only under an authorised planned procedure.
Record
Log location, severity, photographs and action owner. Compare with the previous inspection rather than recording only pass or fail.
Close the loop
Isolate for cleaning, adjustment or replacement. Verify corrective work and record the safe return-to-service decision.
